Tres fueron los caminos importantes que cruzaban el territorio antiguamente, cuando Argentina era colonia española. Aquí se nos muestra la fisonomía actual del principal, que atravesaba Córdoba uniendo Lima con Buenos Aires, y cuyo tramo norte ha sido reconocido por la importancia de su patrimonio y su belleza. Pero la obra se atreve a más, y por primera vez en este tipo de producciones, ubica al Camino Real dentro de la urdimbre de trazados que definieron la personalidad compleja de la provincia, sobre el intenso latido de la historia.
